Foot Mercato first reported a verbal agreement between Strasbourg and AC Milan on 17 August, with an initial figure of more than 50M€ cited. By 18 August, a follow-up report from the same outlet placed the fee at approximately 63M€. The two figures are incompatible and neither club has officially disclosed the final number, so treat 63M€ as the most recent claim rather than a confirmed price.

What is confirmed, in his own words, is that Moreira is going. He posted his farewell to Strasbourg on the evening of 19 August, thanking the club and the fans before any official announcement had come from either side of the Alps. The clubs, as of that point, were still silent.

Strasbourg's biggest sale in years

For RC Strasbourg, this is a windfall by any measure. A fee in the region of 63M€ would rank among the largest sales in the club's history, and it reflects how sharply Moreira's stock has risen since arriving in Ligue 1. The Belgian international developed into one of the division's most watchable wide players, direct and difficult to contain, and Strasbourg are now cashing in at what looks like the peak of his market value.

Why Milan are spending this much

AC Milan have been clear about their need to refresh the attack, and Moreira fits the profile: young, Belgian international, proven at Ligue 1 level and with a ceiling that justifies a fee north of 60M€. For a club of Milan's scale, the move targets an emerging talent whose best football is still ahead of him. Both clubs had yet to issue a single word by the time Moreira had already said his goodbyes.
