Spence lands in Milan — Inter deal close

Djed Spence touched down in Milan on Thursday, greeted Inter fans waiting for him, and made the whole thing look very much like a man who already knows where he's going to work. CaughtOffside has the footage — one source, no official confirmation yet, but the kind of video that keeps transfer timelines moving.

From squad player to wanted man

Twelve months ago, Spence was still fighting to prove himself at Spurs — a player with obvious athletic tools and a loan record that never quite translated into a settled Premier League role. The 2026 World Cup changed the conversation entirely. Spence was one of England's more consistent performers in the tournament, offering directness down the right flank that suits Simone Inzaghi's system well.

That's the thread here. Inter don't sign Premier League right-backs for sentiment — they sign them because they fit a system. Inzaghi's wing-backs are asked to cover enormous ground, get to the byline, and defend a high line under pressure. Spence, at his best, does all three.

What the footage actually tells us

CaughtOffside reports the video shows Spence arriving in Italy and acknowledging Inter supporters who'd gathered to meet him. No fee has been confirmed, no contract length has been reported, and neither Tottenham nor Inter have made any official statement at the time of writing. One source reporting, footage in hand — treat it as movement, not a done deal.

Spurs, for their part, will be reasonably comfortable letting this one move. Spence never nailed down the starting spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and a fee for a player who peaked at a World Cup is good business. Inter get a wing-back who arrives in form and with momentum — if and when this gets over the line.

He didn't wave to the cameras. He waved to the fans. There's a difference, and Inter supporters clocked it immediately.
