Pre-season friendlies are not the place for grand conclusions, but they are absolutely the place for first impressions, and Jacquet's was a good one. The young Frenchman got on the scoresheet and looked assured throughout, giving Liverpool supporters their first proper look at a player the club moved to bring in from Rennais this summer.
