OM's double attacking enquiry: Goore and Hassan

Olympique de Marseille are looking at two attacking targets this summer — and the combination of a Belgian Pro League prospect and a World Cup breakout is exactly the kind of window activity that gets the Vélodrome talking.

Two names on Marseille's radar this summer, per Foot Mercato (8 August 2026): Hyllarion Goore, a young Ivorian forward at KAA Gent in the Belgian Pro League, and Haissem Hassan, who caught the eye at the most recent World Cup. Roberto De Zerbi's side are clearly hunting attacking reinforcement — and this particular combination of a Belgian pipeline prospect and a World Cup breakout is exactly the kind of double-enquiry that gets the Vélodrome talking.

The key word in the original French reporting is renseigné — enquired, not offered. Marseille are gathering information, not putting bids on tables. Goore fits a profile OM have chased before: young, Ivorian, physical, with room to grow into a starting role rather than arriving as a finished product. The Belgian Pro League's track record of producing players who make the step up to the top five leagues gives the logic some weight. Hassan is the more intriguing piece — a player who turned heads at a World Cup carries a different kind of market heat, and if Marseille can move before that heat fully translates into a price spike, the timing makes sense. His current club affiliation has not been confirmed in the available reporting, which is worth watching.

Marseille have the fanbase and the European football to sell to both. That pitch writes itself. What still needs to happen: a second source confirming either enquiry, clarity on Hassan's current club and what a realistic fee structure looks like, and whether OM are willing to move from renseigné to an actual offer — which is a different conversation entirely.

Two enquiries in one window can mean a lot of things. Sometimes one is the real target and the other is leverage. Sometimes both go nowhere. Foot Mercato has opened the file; the rest of the summer will fill it in.
