What's being claimed

What would make sense

A lot of it, actually. Tonali is the kind of midfielder Premier League title contenders covet: physical, technically assured, capable of dictating tempo and pressing hard. Arsenal have the financial muscle to go near €100m if they believe he is the missing piece. Spurs, historically more cautious at that price point, would need to back themselves in a way they rarely do — but the ambition is there on paper.

Newcastle holding out for nine figures is also coherent. They are under no pressure to sell, and Tonali's profile — age, nationality, Premier League track record — justifies a premium valuation. The €100m line is aggressive, but it is not absurd.
